Hey ALL! I'm very excited about this event. 

I'll be performing a feature performance with a live gospel band, and we'll be doing a huge chunk of the music from my upcoming live gospel project, this journey home.  See the synopsis below....

If you blinked, you missed it... for the past six months, Charisa the ViolinDiva has been on a roll. Between opening up for Chaka Khan, winning Apollo Amateur Night, dominating McDonald's Gospelfest, and featuring as a violin soloist on William McDowell's Chart-topping album, Arise....The girl has been on fire, so when you join her on Mar 11th at the Hudon River Museum at 2pm, be ready for a night of soulful jazz and bliss.

After growing up in a traditional Black Baptist Church in NE Washington DC as a child, young Charisa was invited on many occasions to nurture her budding gift in both song and violin ministry. Fast forward to several decades later, and she'd realized that she'd created a collection of contemporized and soulful arrangements of sacred songs and spirituals that should be captured in the studio. This would become the This Journey Home Project, culminating in a live recording summer 2012. From the first plaintive strains of her violin in Wayfaring Stranger, through the funky hiphop of Wade in the Water that won Charisa the Gospelfest Competition, to the encompassing praise and worship of the title track This Journey Home, Charisa and her Ensemble weave a vivid story that indeed takes you on a journey of loss, light, and redemption for your soul.
