I've built this program from scratch, as a teaching artist for the Midori and Friends Organization. My kids all learn how to improvise, to read music, to play by ear, to compose, to play the violin and make a good sound, and t be all around amazing musicians who love the violin. And, I'm proud to say, 90% of them are minority children, in the field of classical music, where 95% of professional violinists are not minorities. We've performed for the mayor and Midori Ito, and venues all over nyc, and every year I bring in my own band to play with them, and cry when they graduate.
